Julia was a member of both Bexhill and Herstmonceux Country Dance Clubs where she was an active and popular member. On joining the Bexhill club she was asked by the caller June "have you done this before", to which Julia replied "yes, many years ago at Herstmonceux castle". "Oh", says June, "I danced there too, and did you know that club is still running but now meets at Bodle Street and the "twins" who you must have met, are still members". Julia, was amazed and said that she must visit; she soon did so and then joined the Herstmonceux club. We admired her determined approach and very positive outlook, right to the end.
